  • We request that you submit 5-10 hairs, please be as certain as possible that all hairs came from the same person. Combining hairs from different individuals may create a mixed DNA sample and affect the resulting genotype file. Remaining hair samples will not be returned to the customer.

  • We charged $2,000 per sample.

  • We provide a Hair Collection Kit containing disposable tweezers and a labeled resealable outer bag, and submission instructions. Use the tweezers to place the hair in the sample bag, then package and return the kit according to the enclosed instructions.

  • No. We will not be returning any remaining sample. Only submit what you are willing to have consumed for testing

  • We estimate it taking between 3 to 6 months from when we receive your sample to when we deliver your genotype file.

  • Our team has experience working with ancient and historic remains. The technology used by Kleio has been successful with human hair samples as old as 200 years and extinct animal hair more than 50,000 years old.

  • No. KLEIO provides the genotype file to the customer but does not conduct genealogical database searches. The file is suitable for upload to GEDmatch and FTDNA.
